PERFORMING ARTS

In our classes at Clifton Moor, students from 6-16 years spend two hours learning Dance, Drama and Music in separate lessons with a specialist teacher for each subject. They are taught in age groups and lesson content and themes are tailored towards their abilities and interests.

A wide variety of styles are taught in all subject areas, and recent themes have included physical theatre, mask work, dance choreography, voice and movement, and harmony. We place great importance on building skills and techniques including voice production, posture and expressive movement. Devising and improvisation are very important, teaching students to think quickly and creatively as individuals, as well as developing problem solving skills together as a team. Ideas are valued and students are encouraged to have creative input into their own work from the beginning.

Each summer, Senior school work together on a fully costumed production incorporating Dance, Drama and Singing; promoting a strong sense of teamwork and achievement. LAMDA Speech and Drama exams and IDTA medal tests in Dance are offered as optional extras.

BOOK A TWO WEEK TRIAL

Tread The Boards offer a two week trial to give children a real taste of the experience we offer at our performing arts schools. We believe that two weeks will allow a child to settle in and discover what each class has to offer, while giving you peace of mind that you’re committing to something that they thoroughly enjoy. There is no further obligation after this, and the two week trial payment is deducted from the total fees when you sign up for the rest of the term. To book your two week trial, please fill in the form, and we will contact you. Come along and give it a go!
